The whiteboard is an office element that can be found in many companies. For example, it allows work teams to add interesting information such as monthly or weekly objectives or to outline a new project. However, since the arrival of the Covid-19 epidemic, many employees are now working from home. Therefore, the whiteboard can no longer be used by teams.

Fortunately, there are free online services ( Whiteborb and Excalidraw ) that allow you to create a collaborative whiteboard on which all employees can add annotations, drawings, images, text, and many other things.

Excalidraw

Excalidraw.com is an open source project that allows you to create a whiteboard online or offline (locally on your computer). It has multiple tools to create shapes (square, rectangle, circle, diamond, arrow, etc.), write text and even import images from your computer.

All the tools available on Excalidraw can be customized: outline, background, fill, outline width, line style, line style or opacity. Additionally, you can save your project to move on to another or import it later.

Finally, if you want to work together on the same whiteboard, you just have to share the URL with your collaborators.

Whiteborb

Whiteborb.com is another open source project whose code is available on the GitHub platform. To use the tool, no registration is required. You just need to go to the site to access the online whiteboard. Then, all you have to do is share the URL (customizable if needed) with your work team so that they too can interact with the board.

Note that the tool is not only accessible on a computer, but also on a smartphone or tablet.

WhiteBorb: Customize collaborative whiteboard URL

Whiteborb’s interface is really very easy to use. It is no more and no less than a large empty surface on which there is a toolbox. You can add text, images, drawings, shapes, etc. Each user will be able to add whatever they want and the whole work team will be able to see it live.
