Google is currently experimenting with a new feature that aims to highlight authors in search results. This feature, named “Perspectives,” presents a card-like box located below the search result snippet, which offers more details about the content author.
The “Perspectives” box contains the author’s name, photo, and a brief bio that highlights their experience and credentials. Additionally, the box features links to the author’s other content, including social media profiles and other written articles.
While this feature seems to be in a testing phase and is not available for all search results, it has the potential to add more context and credibility to search results, particularly for articles that deal with complex subjects or contentious issues.
According to the report, this feature could also benefit content creators by increasing their visibility and enhancing their reputation as authoritative voices in their respective fields. Nonetheless, it remains uncertain when or if Google will release this feature to all users.
