If you use Thunderbird as an email client, you may never have thought of backing up your Thunderbird config, but also all of your emails.
It doesn’t matter, we’ll do this together. So don’t worry, it’s not complicated since all you have to do is display the hidden files in Windows and then go to the following directory:
C:UsersNOMAppDataRoamingThunderbirdProfilesNOM_PROFIL
And simply save the profile folder which contains all the messages, preferences, contact book, etc.
Now if you are lazy, you can also use this free utility named BackupThunderbird which is able to automatically detect this folder and save it for you in a location of your choice.
The icing on the cake, you can even encrypt it with a small password for more security.
The tool also allows you to do the reverse procedure, that is to say restore a backup to find your Thunderbird before.
It’s simple, effective. As I like.
