5/5 - (29 votes)

If you install McAfee Internet Security on your computer, it might add an annoying tab to Microsoft Outlook that says “McAfee Anti-Spam”. If you have no use for this feature that filters junk email messages, you can remove the tab and folder from Outlook with these steps.

  1. From Outlook, go to “File” > “Options“.
  2. Select “Add-Ins” on the left pane.
  3. At the bottom of the window, set the “Manage” drop-down to “COM Add-ins“, then select the “Go…” button.
  4. Uncheck the check box next to “McAfee Antispam” or “McAfee Addin“, then select “OK“.

The “McAfee Anti-Spam” tab is removed from Outlook.

FAQ

I never installed McAfee. How did this get here?

McAfee is often bundled with other applications. It will often install during the installation of another app without you even knowing it.
