How to remove the TikTok watermark or save a video without one

5/5 - (38 votes)

TikTok is an app in which you can easily lose 20 to 30 minutes just scrolling from one entertaining video to the next. And thankfully, the app makes it easy to share videos with friends outside of TikTok. But what do you do if you want to download or save a video for yourself? Well, TikTok makes that easy, too — as long as the profile that uploaded the video is public and allows downloads on their videos.

Anytime you save or share a TikTok video, you’ll notice that a bouncing watermark has been added. Sometimes, it even covers up essential parts of the video. So, can you get rid of it? You sure can. And this article will show you how to get rid of a watermark on a TikTok you’ve already downloaded, as well as how to download a TikTok video without a watermark from the start.

How to remove the TikTok watermark on iPhone

If you already have a TikTok video that you have saved and want to remove the watermark, there are a couple of ways you can do it. It just depends on how much effort you’re willing to expend.

How to get rid of the TikTok watermark by cropping it out

The first way to remove the TikTok watermark is by simply cropping it out of your video altogether. This can be a little tricky, but it is possible. Just follow these steps:

  1. Find the video in your Photos app.
  2. Select Edit > Resize at the bottom.
  3. Pinch to zoom into the video and remove the watermark.
  4. Tap Done.

Because the watermark bounces around, you might want to scroll through your video to make sure you’ve cropped it out entirely.

How to remove a watermark from TikTok with Video Eraser

The downside of cropping to remove a watermark is that it can also crop out important parts of the frame. You might want to try an app like Video Eraser that can remove the watermark without cropping. After you download Video Eraser from the App Store, you can follow these instructions:

  1. Select + > Photos Library.
  2. Now select the video to import and tap Done.
  3. Tap the i icon and choose Remove Watermark.
  4. Drag your finger over the watermark to create a box around it.
  5. Now tap Start.

The video will work in the background, saving a new version of the video. When it’s done, go into the Processed tab at the button to watch it.

How to download a TikTok without the watermark

Maybe you’ve just found a video on TikTok and want to download it without the watermark so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of removing it. Here are a couple of strategies you’ll find helpful.

Save a TikTok without the watermark as a Live photo

If the video lets you save it as a Live Photo, here’s a nice workaround here for you:

  1. In TikTok, click the Share button and choose Live Photo.
  2. Open up the Photos app on your phone.
  3. Select the Live Photo.
  4. Tap the Share button > Save as Video.
Send to window in TikTok showing the Live Photo button.

Voila! You should now have a video saved in the Photos app without a watermark.

Download a TikTok video without the watermark using Musically Download

  1. Open TikTok and find a video you want to save
  2. Click the Share button > Copy Link.
  3. Open Safari and go to
  4. Paste in the link from TikTok.
  5. Tap Download.
  6. You’ll see two links to download the video. Tap the one labeled No Watermark.
