With this software, you have the ability to create backups in the form of snapshots and store them locally or remotely using services such as AWS S3, OpenStack Swift, BackBlaze B2, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and even via SFTP.
While Restic is a great option for command-line users, it may not be suitable for those who prefer a graphical user interface. Fortunately, Jarg provides a GUI for Restic, albeit not the most visually appealing one.
To use this software, you will need to download and install Restic beforehand.
When you use Jarg for the first time, a “default” profile will be created, along with a “restic directory” in your user folder. The current folder that you are in will serve as the source for the backup.
Jarg will then execute Restic commands based on your preferences and display the results on the right side of the interface.
However, it’s worth noting that Jarg does not currently encrypt S3 passwords and secrets for security purposes. Therefore, it’s important to be cautious with your computer’s security when using Jarg.
