Redacted is a free online tool that can blur , pixelate , or mask part of a photo . A handy tool for example to blur a face on a photo or hide a license plate on a car .

Redacted: easily and quickly blur a face in a photo

The site is really very easy to use. All you have to do is upload your photo or image to the site, then select (holding the left mouse click) the part of the photo you want to blur, pixelate or mask. Note that you can hide several parts at the same time.

Once the part of your photo is selected, a small toolbar will then open. From the latter, you can change the shape of the blur area  : square or round . In addition, three types of masking are available: blur , pixelate or black box (see photos below).

In addition, the site also offers a “ Settings ” button which allows you to adjust the level of masking (more or less blurry).

Finally, if you made a mistake, you have the option of deleting a masking zone. To do this, simply click on the area in question, then press the key Suppr.on your keyboard.

Once your modifications are complete, simply click on the ” Download ” button to download your photo with your blurred areas.

As you will have understood, it is not necessary to open an image editor to blur parts of a photo or an image. This online tool allows you to do so in just a few clicks.

And the icing on the cake, the images or photos that you transfer to the Redacted site are not sent and stored on a server, everything works in your local browser.

Redacted is a really easy to use online photo blurring tool . The only downside of this tool is that it is not compatible on smartphone or tablet (at least on my devices)… Tell me in the comments if it’s the same for you ?
