There are many tools for making screencasts, i.e. filming your screen (and sometimes your face) to make video tutorials or training. But most of the good tools are paid.

Fortunately, there is VokoscreenNG, free software available in 41 languages, allowing you to record all or part of your screen, as well as your webcam and your microphone to make your own screencasts under Linux and Windows.

VokoscreenNG has interesting features such as the ability to highlight your mouse cursor, your clicks, but also to activate a zoom at times, or configure a countdown before starting the recording.

I find the interface well done and all the basic features are there. In short, to try if you are tired of Camtasia.
