Thanks to Windows 11, it is possible to install any Android application. On the other hand, apart from those available in the Amazon Appstore, you have to go through command lines to install an APK file. This was without counting on WSA PacMan, which now makes it possible to install an APK in the simplest way possible, without going through a command line.

Although Windows 11 allows you to install Android applications, the process is not yet easy. The possibility is mainly intended for users of the Windows Insider program, although there is a trick to install the Windows Subsystem for Android using command lines. But, and this is perhaps the most sensitive point, only the Amazon Appstore is supported at the moment . The concern is that the Amazon store is far from being as stocked as the Google Play Store.

Fortunately, it is also possible to considerably increase the number of applications that can be installed on Windows 11. As soon as the new operating system was presented in June 2021, Microsoft confirmed that it would be possible to install Android applications in. APK. What offer Windows 11 several million Android applications. On the other hand, there too, it is necessary to go through command lines, as explained in our tutorial devoted to the installation of Android apps via APK … Which is hardly practical for those who are not yet very familiar with Windows.

The good news is that there is now a small utility to bypass the command lines required to install Android applications. Called WSA PacMan, this application is available for free on Github. We will assume that you have already installed everything you need to run Windows Subsystem for Android. Here is how to install it and enjoy Android APKs on Windows 11 with ease:

  1. In order to retrieve WSA PacMan , click on one of the links below.
    – Download WSA PacMan (installer)
    – Download WSA PacMan (portable version, no installation required)
  2. Install the program you just downloaded. If you have opted for the portable version, simply unzip the ZIP archive you just recovered from somewhere on your hard drive. When installing, for ease of use, leave the Associate WSA Package Manager with the .apk file extension option checked.

3-Then launch the Windows Subsystem for Android app . Check the Developer mode option if it is not already checked.

4-Finally open the WSA PacMan application. All the options should finally be green (if you have enabled developer mode in the previous step, the application is able to retrieve the IP address of the virtual server).

5-All you have to do then is download APK files from a site like APKPure, APKMirror or APKPure. Their opening and installation are automatically managed by WSA PacMan, you have almost nothing to do except approve their installation on your PC.
